Want to get into podcasts (ahem, like mine)? You need a nice set of earbuds like these that sound great, have a 32-hour battery life and are a fraction of the price of AirPods.
❄️ This blows me away: LG’s upcoming Artcool AI Air can detect a room’s layout and direct cool air to the people it senses. It knows when a window is open and will automatically switch to energy-saving mode. Plus, it’s got a sleek black mirror finish. Price and ETA? Both TBA.
$70
Total price of a $20 order on DoorDash. It’s not just delivery fees and tips. DoorDash now lets you split your bill into four payments with Klarna. Miss a payment? That’s a $7 late fee and maybe overdraft charges from your bank. The other day, I ordered DoorDash and got this message, “Jesus is on his way.” I thought, “He sure is!”
Got this question from Sharon in Chicago: “How much can I make selling books on Amazon?” Be careful how you price your books. For e-books priced between $2.99 and $9.99, you’ll get 70% in royalties. Anything above or below that range drops your royalties to 35%. For paperbacks, you’ll get 60% of the list price (minus printing costs, which depend on page count, size and color). What a novel way to make a living!
Student in the family? A student Amazon Prime account is a heck of a lot cheaper than the regular price. Students get six months free, and then it’s half off a year ($69).
We may earn a commission from purchases, but our recommendations are always objective.
✈️ Flying this year? You can save up to 15% when you book on a Sunday. The cheapest day of the week to travel is Wednesday. Now, that alone is worth the price of this newsletter!
About $100
The expected price tag of Grand Theft Auto 6. This leaked on a Swiss store’s website but got quickly deleted. Hardly a steal? It’s actually about the same as the $50 original GTA from 1997 in today’s dollars. The game should be out later this year.
$5,000
Price of Lamborghini’s baby stroller. The Reef AL Arancio is like a supercar for infants. It has car-like brake pedals, Italian leather and Lamborghini’s iconic logo. They teamed up with Silver Cross to create this “super stroller.” Only 500 were made, so these bougie babies will stand out.
AirPods aren’t the only option: Check out Raycon. Their earbuds sound great, get a ton of battery life and are a fraction of the price.
📬 Ransomware by snail mail? It’s happening. Cybercriminals are now sending ransom demands through postal mail. The letters warn folks that their networks have been compromised and sensitive info stolen. The price to keep it private? $250,000 to $350,000 in bitcoin, due in 10 days. And because they’re oh-so-considerate, they include a QR code so you can send the crypto right to their wallet.
Mind your drone business: DJI just launched a “drone-in-a-box” that can take off from a moving vehicle. The DJI Dock 3 fits in the back of a pickup and is made for police and fire missions. Sounds cool, until you see the price … over $20,000. And no, that doesn’t include installation. Yikes.
$4 million
Listing price for the “Breaking Bad” house. The 1,900-square-foot home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was Walter White’s in the show and worth closer to $400K. Even 12 years after the show ended, about 300 cars drive past every day to see it, and the owners can’t take it anymore.
Alexa+ is ready for a price: The new Amazon AI can guess a movie based on clues. Ask for “that one with the sparkling vampires,” and it pulls up “Twilight.” It’s getting integrated with thousands of apps, too, so you can do things like order an Uber without lifting a finger. I expect more skills for $240 a year!

Price increase for Acer laptops next month. Why? CEO Jason Chen says new tariffs are raising import taxes. Now those get passed along to me and you. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading, hurry.
50 cents
Extra for an egg at Waffle House. No word yet on when they’ll drop the bird flu surcharge. Better than a price hike on the whole menu. Oh, be careful what you say around egg whites. They can’t take a yolk.
$200 million
The listing price for the 1.84-acre empty lot next to Jeff Bezos’ house in Miami. It’s in the “Billionaire Bunker” area of the Indian Creek neighborhood. The price is over seven times what the last owner paid in 2018 ($27.5 million). Hey, Jeff, how’d you like an amazing house in Phoenix?
🍕 Slice, slice, baby: Pizza Hut is giving away 1 million pizzas for National Book Month. Order online or through the Pizza Hut app, spend at least $8, and use the code BOOKIT40. The offer runs until the end of October … or until the free pizzas run out. This alone is worth the price of my newsletter. Oh, wait, it’s free!
