🧠 Your tabs get a brain: Microsoft Edge just dropped Copilot Mode, an AI-powered browser that sees your tabs, listens to voice commands and helps you shop, plan and even book paddleboards. Will it judge your 48 open tabs? Let’s hope not. For now, the feature is opt-in and free for a limited time.

📚 Turn on Dark Mode on Kindle: While reading, tap the screen, hit the three-dot menu and go to Settings > Screen and brightness > Appearance > Dark Mode. On some models, you can also swipe down from the top of the screen and toggle it there.

🌤️ Weather shortcut in Chrome: On desktop, type “weather” in the address bar to see a mini forecast right away. You don’t even have to press Enter. Want a sky report somewhere else? Just add a location, like “weather Arizona.” Spoiler: It’s hot. 🥵

⚡️ 3-second tech genius: If your Echo sounds like it’s underwater, unplug it. Wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in. A good ol’ restart does the trick.

📚 Keep reading without your Kindle: You can install the Kindle app on your phone (iOS or Android), and it’ll sync your progress automatically. Perfect for finishing that book when your e-reader isn’t around. Don’t have one? The newest Paperwhite model has weeks of battery life.

See past edits in Google Docs: View earlier versions of a document by going to File > Version History > See version history. It shows what changed, who made the edits, and lets you restore old work. FYI: To restrict access, click the Share button (top right) and adjust the permissions.

⚡️ 3-second tech genius: On WhatsApp, you can bookmark any message by long-pressing it and tapping the star icon at the top. Then go to the three-dot main menu and find it under Starred.

🫖 Tea gets scalding hot: An app called Tea lets you anonymously review your exes. Think: “Would not date again, bad communicator, great dog.” That five-star smile? It’s got a one-star past. The app is gaining steam with women as a dating safety tool, but critics warn it’s a defamation lawsuit waiting to happen.

Pin apps on Chromebook: Here’s a quick way to get access to your favorite apps. Open the Launcher (bottom left), find the app you want, right-click it (or two-finger tap) and select Pin to shelf. Want to remove it? Right-click again and choose Unpin.

 Move around faster on Kindle: Need to jump back a few pages? Open your book, then swipe up from the bottom. Tap the Grid icon to see previews of multiple pages. Use the arrows on the sides to flip through your book.

📊 Keep headers visible in Google Sheets: Scrolling through a long table and losing track of your column names? You can freeze the top row. Go to View > Freeze > 1 row. Need more to stay put? Hover over the thick gray line at the top and drag it down to row 2, 3 or wherever you need.

🎨 Can’t pay for Photoshop? GIMP is a free image editor that’s as close to Photoshop as you can get without paying. You can create images, logos, thumbnails or retouch photos. Plus, it’s got all the tools you need, like filters, layers, color tweaks, masking and more. Works on macOS, Windows and Linux, too.

⚡️ 3-second tech genius: In Gmail, it’s easy to find all the emails from a specific sender. Right-click on a message and select Find emails from Kim Komando. Now you can catch up on any newsletters you missed!

❤️ See your liked posts on Instagram: You can view everything you’ve liked, whether it’s posts, reels or whatever. Go to Profile > Menu (three lines) > Your activity > Interactions > Likes. Scroll through or sort by Newest to oldest to find what you’re looking for.

🌐 Set a start page in Chrome: You can make Chrome open your favorite website when you launch it. Go to Settings > On startup > Open a specific page or set of pages > Add a new page. Type in the URL (like https://www.komando.com) and click Add. Next time you open Chrome, it’ll take you straight there. Neat.

📩 Swap Gmail icons for text: You know those little icons above your emails? You can change them to plain text. Go to Settings > See all settings, scroll down to Button labels, switch to Text, and click Save Changes. Now you’ll see clear labels like Archive, Spam and Delete. Yay, no more mystery buttons.

📺 Netflix secret codes: If you’re using a web browser, try Netflix’s hidden category codes. Just type “netflix.com/browse/genre/” followed by the number. Two of my favorites: 81466194 for 90-minute films and 2013975 for family movie night. Want more? Here’s a full list you can try.

⚡️ 3-second tech genius: In Google Docs, press Ctrl + Shift + S to turn on voice typing. On Mac, use Cmd + Shift + S instead. FYI: It works in Chrome, Safari and Edge.

🔍 Change your Chrome search engine: You don’t have to stick with Google. Chrome also gives you options like Bing, Yahoo!, DuckDuckGo and Yandex. Go to Settings > Search engine > Change, pick one, then hit Set as default.

Add a clock to your Kindle: Want to keep an eye on the time while reading? In a book, tap the Aa icon > More > and turn on Show Clock While Reading. You’ll see the time at the top of the screen. Pretty helpful if you keep staying up way past your bedtime.
