What to stream now

I don’t know about you, but when Friday hits, the last thing I want to do is scroll for an hour trying to find something to watch. Usually, I give up and rewatch The Office for the 10th time.

Not this weekend. I made you a watch list, meticulously crafted between dopamine crashes, for the entertainment-decision-deficient among us. You’re welcome.

Here are 12 solid picks worth your time, plus a bonus you’ll want to add to your watch list.

🍸 The White Lotus (Max)

Luxury resorts, twisted guests and awkward tension. Start in Hawaii, jet to Italy in Season 2, and buckle up for Season 3 in Thailand. All packed with secrets, scandals and one perfectly timed death.

🏊‍♀️ Nyad (Netflix)

At 64, Diana Nyad swam from Cuba to Florida. No cage. Just grit. If you need motivation this weekend, this is it. Meanwhile, someone younger out there just pulled their back sneezing.

💣 Slow Horses (Apple TV+)

Washed-up British spies solving real crimes? Yes, please. Gary Oldman leads this messy, brilliant MI5 reject crew.

🔥 Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Prime Video)

Spy drama meets situationship. Way better than that Brangelina movie we all lied about liking.

🌊 Black Cake (Hulu)

📋 Ready to tackle your to-do list? I’ve got the tools to help you get it done.

I order supplements online: They’re more affordable that way, and I never run out. On my daily list: collagen. Hit this link for 45% off NativePath.* Their collagen mixes into coffee and smoothies, and it’s great for your joints and recovery.

🗣️ YouTube wants to dub every video: AI tools will soon translate any video into any language (paywall link). It’ll use the creator’s own voice and sync their lips to match. The AI behind this is trained on current videos … and you agreed to it years ago. If you’re a creator, congrats, you’re multilingual now.

$301 million

What A Minecraft Movie raked in over its opening weekend. It’s the biggest debut ever of a video game adaptation, even surpassing The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Critics are split, but with numbers like these, it’s a blockbuster.

Reel in the views: Want to go viral on Instagram? The algorithm loves Reels with trending sounds. After uploading your video, tap the Music icon on the right. Then, hit the Trending tab for the top 50 tracks right now. Pro tip: Press the Bookmark icon next to a song to save your favorites for later. You’re not basic, you’re just strategically algorithm-friendly.

🎓 AI free ride: My college readers, you’re in luck. Google is giving away a year of Gemini Advanced for free. It’s part of the Google One AI Premium plan, which means you also get tools like Veo 2 for video, NotebookLM, 2TB of cloud storage and more. This runs until June 30. Just use your .edu email to sign up.

🤳 Look your best: Ever been caught checking your hair in a video call? Kind of embarrassing. Adjust yourself and the lighting before the meeting. On a Windows PC, open your Start menu and search for the Camera app; on a Mac, open Photo Booth.

⚡️ 3-second tech genius: On YouTube, press K to pause/play, J to rewind 10 sec, L to fast-forward. You’re now a keyboard video ninja. (Mac & PC)

✋ Hands off: Don’t let slippery fingers fast-forward your YouTube binge. Lock the screen and keep your place. In the YouTube app, tap the video player and hit Settings (gear icon) > Lock screen. When you’re done watching, tap anywhere and press Tap to unlock. Head over to my channel and give it a try. It’s like baby mode for adults who aggressively snack.

⏩ Time flies: Time-lapse videos can make a simple sunset look magical. On your iPhone or Android, open the Camera app and select Time-lapse mode. Tap Record to start, and press it again when you’re done. FYI, 30 minutes of real time is about 10 seconds of video. Give it a shot tonight.

🐭 MrBeast wants to be the next Disney: Hard to believe his first YouTube video, a Minecraft trick, went up on Feb. 20, 2012, when he was only 13. Now? He’s raising hundreds of millions to build an empire of animation, gaming, toys, comics, merch, you name it. At this point, his thumbnails deserve their own Emmy.

🐻 Meet the robobear ready to roar: Wyoming’s Game and Fish Department built a fake bear on a remote-controlled platform that charges at you going 35 mph. Truly the Teslabear nobody wanted. The test? See if you can whip out bear spray in time. Spoiler alert: Most people would be toast. Your best bet is to keep that spray holstered, and never in your backpack. Check out the incredible video.

🎬 Veo 2 just got a director’s cut: Google’s AI video tool now lets you shoot drone-style, erase logos and distractions like magic and even zoom out to create more scene than you filmed. Hollywood, meet Hal 9000. Simply amazing.

🏠 Gotta be smarter than the scammers: A Michigan woman lost $2,500 after falling for a phony Facebook Marketplace listing. It had a tour video, she paid the security deposit, got the keys … and then showed up to a place that wasn’t even for rent. PSA: Do a reverse image search, verify the address on Google Maps and never pay with Zelle, Venmo or gift cards.

Traveling soon? Don’t mess with pricey roaming fees or sketchy airport SIM cards. I use Saily eSIM — it’s the smart, secure way to stay connected anywhere in the world. Just download the app, choose your plan and you’re online in minutes. Here’s a how-to video. No physical SIM needed!

▶️ TikTok, who? YouTube wants you to watch more Shorts later this spring. They’re updating its video editor to automatically sync cuts to the beat of the music and AI stickers. Plus, no more minimum watch time. Views will be counted the second you press play. Cool, but we all know TikTok’s secret sauce is its algorithm.

Timing is everything: Make your next YouTube video a hit by scheduling when it goes live. In YouTube Studio, upload your video, then go to Visibility > Schedule. Pick a time when your people will watch when it drops. This helps more people find your video.

👶 Birth rates are declining: If you’re wondering why no one’s settling down anymore, here’s a stat for you: Over half of 18- to 34-year-olds in the U.S. aren’t in a steady relationship. Blame tech. Folks are spending more time on social media, video games and TV than hanging out with each other. Can’t date if you’re glued to a screen!

🛒 Aisle see you: I want to try this! Instacart will pay you to video store shelves while you shop. It’s called Store View. This is just the start. Their Caper Carts will one day update stock levels every hour with built-in cameras.

🐣 Not a practical yolk: Ever seen a chicken hatch from an open egg? A Japanese student actually pulled it off, and the video’s racking up thousands of upvotes on Reddit. The clip shows him cutting the egg open and injecting things into the embryo. After 21 days, a chick pops out. Strange but amazing.
