🎬 Where can I watch that? These sites have the answer

You know the feeling. You want to watch a specific movie, maybe an old favorite (hello, 1999’s The Mummy) or that buzzworthy show everyone’s talking about, but you have no clue where to find it.

Instead of spending those precious moments actually watching it, you’re playing streaming detective: Netflix? Hulu? Prime Video? Is it free? Rentable?

Maybe you’re just looking for something new and don’t want to scroll endlessly like it’s a part-time job. That’s where streaming search sites save the day. You type in what you want to watch, and they tell you exactly where to find it.

🔍 The straight shooter

JustWatch has been around since 2015 and operates in over 130 countries. It pulls real-time data from more than 100 streaming platforms, including Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Hulu, Max, Peacock and many more. You can filter results by genre, release year, rating, price and resolution (HD, 4K, etc.).

And yes, it’s free. It works on iOS, Android and smart TVs. Also lets you create a watch list, then acts like a personal assistant that reminds you when your top picks become available.

🍿The all-in-one tool

Reelgood is another powerhouse. It supports over 120 streaming services, including niche ones like Crunchyroll, BritBox and Shudder. Its slick interface features curated collections (like Hidden Gems or Best New Releases), integrated trailers and personalized suggestions.

You can sync across devices, track your viewing progress and get notified when a title is added or removed.

Plus, it’s also free (no strings, no surprise subscription black holes) and works across web, iOS, Android and even Roku and Apple TV.

Other free options worth checking out: TV Time (for tracking shows and episode reminders), Watchworthy (personalized recommendations) and Simkl (deep tracking + anime-friendly). None are quite as full-featured, but they make great companions to JustWatch and Reelgood.

🚀 Oh, speaking of streaming subscriptions … My podcast sponsor Rocket Money finds all your recurring subscriptions and lets you easily cancel anything you don’t want. The first time I logged in, it saved me $435!*

Safety first, second and third…

😅 Let’s face it: Peace of mind is priceless.

  • 🚪 Ding-dong: Get alerts, talk back and scare off porch pirates with a 2K video doorbell (54% off).
  • 🔒 Your lock, upgraded: These childproof door locks (15% off, two-pack) hold up against 800 pounds of force.
  • 🛎️ Sketchy hotel? Pack a little portable door lock (17% off). 4.2 stars and 11,800+ reviews.
  • 🚘 Them’s the breaks: This steering wheel and brake lock combo (20% off) is a giant “nope” for carjackers.

🛡️ Fortify everything: Head to my Amazon storefront to explore a whole arsenal of safety tools I picked just for you.

📹 No cellfies here: Turns out the FBI does have the “missing minute” from the Epstein prison footage. You know, the one that mysteriously vanished from the DOJ’s public video. The metadata shows it was recorded, just not released. Officials now claim the raw footage exists and shows nothing sketchy, obviously.

1 billion

That’s how many people watch podcasts on YouTube each month. Yes, watching. Turns out we didn’t kill our attention spans, we just moved them to couches, desks and smart TVs. If you’re multitasking with video in the background, congrats: You’re in excellent company. Might I suggest adding my podcast to the rotation? It’s cheaper than therapy.

🖥️ Pick the right refresh rate: Resolution isn’t everything when buying a monitor. Refresh rate affects how smooth motion looks and helps cut down on choppy images. For everyday work, anything over 60 Hz is fine. Gamers and video editors should go for 180 Hz. And if your kids are serious about Fortnite, they’ll want 240 Hz or more.

😳 Oklahoma school board scandal: During a Board of Ed meeting, someone streamed a video of nude women gathered around a “chiropractic table” on the big screen. So there’s a full-blown investigation, and fingers are pointing at Ryan Walters, the state’s head of education. He’s denying everything, of course.

🍏 iPhone 17 Pro rumors: It’s getting a major camera upgrade, like 8x optical zoom instead of the 16 Pro’s 5x. Apple’s also working on a special pro camera app and adding a new button on the top edge for quick shots. It might even support 8K video recording. Now everyone can see your nose hairs.

YouTube sleep timer: You can play white noise before bed without it running all night. While watching a video, tap the cog icon (on mobile and desktop), select Sleep timer and choose a time like 30 minutes or End of video. Fingers crossed, no loud ad sneaks in to ruin your dreams.

📺 Skip the app-hopping: Stream HBO Max, Paramount+, Apple TV+ and more, all inside Prime Video. Just log in on the web, click the Channels tab at the top and follow the prompts to subscribe. Now (almost) all your shows are in one place. So much easier.

⚡️ 3-second tech genius: Watching a YouTube video and want to share the good part? Pause it where you want, right-click and select Copy video URL at current time. Now send the link. Easy.

💣 AI made your explosion: In a “first ever” moment, Netflix used generative AI to create a building-collapse scene in The Eternaut, claiming it was 10x faster and cheaper than traditional video effects. CEO Ted Sarandos swears it wasn’t only a major budget break but a creative opportunity. Sure, if your idea of creativity is “Chat, make Argentina go boom.”

🍏 Plug in a better camera: If your iPad runs iPadOS 17 or later and has a USB-C port, you can use an external webcam (34% off). Why bother? Way better video quality, especially in low light. No drivers or extra software needed. Just plug it in and go.

🤖 Roblox adds AI selfie check: Kids can now chat more freely with friends, but only after proving they’re over 13. That starts with a video selfie, so AI can estimate their age (yes, really). If that doesn’t work, they’ll need to upload a government ID, finally.

🌞 See visitors, not the sky: The best height to mount your video doorbell is 48 inches from the ground. Why? Most have a wide field of view, so there’s no need to go higher.

Fake views, real gas money: A couple drove three hours to visit a scenic cable car spot … that doesn’t exist. It was conjured by Google’s Veo 3 AI video maker and posted by a fake AI news channel on TikTok. Deepfake scams are up 2,137% since 2022, and now your vacation plans might be, too.

💸 iSaved you money: AirTag batteries last about a year, but you don’t need to toss the whole thing. Just pop in a new CR2032 coin cell battery … you can literally get them for under $5. No tools needed, it’s a super easy swap. I made a quick video to show you how to do it!

🙊 Catfishing finance: Scammers are using deepfake Zoom calls (paywall link) and cloned exec voices to steal millions. Companies keep falling for it. One Hong Kong firm wired $25M to a video call of “CFOs” who turned out to be AI sock puppets. Congrats to the bots, you now officially have LinkedIn clout.

💪 Get in shape: MuscleWiki is a free workout tool that shows you exercises for every muscle group. Select Male or Female, then click on a muscle in the body map. You’ll get a list of exercises to choose from, each with a demo video and step-by-step instructions so you know exactly what to do.

👁️ Look ’em in the eye: On iPhone video calls, eye contact’s tricky since you’re looking at the screen, not the camera. Apple’s Eye Contact feature uses AI to adjust your gaze automatically. Turn it on in Settings > FaceTime > Eye Contact. Cue the staring contest.

1 minute

That’s how much footage is mysteriously missing from Jeffrey Epstein’s jail video. The DOJ dropped 11 hours of grainy surveillance and still managed to skip the one minute everyone cares about. Conspiracy thriller writers, congrats, the feds just gave you your cold open. Oh, and it wasn’t just one, but two jail cams that “malfunctioned” near Epstein’s cell.
