Is using a VPN unethical?

One of my readers was shocked I gave this as an idea to save some money renting a car abroad. What do you think?

Looking for a spot to chill and grill? Here’s why some are renting out their backyards, in one minute.

💸 Not a bad side hustle: Twentysomethings are making up to $36,000 a year by renting their everyday items like T-shirts, speakers and lawn mowers. On the clothing app Pickle, for example, a Cult Gaia dress that normally costs $898 can be yours temporarily for $100 (paywall link). Dang, my garage full of “investments” could be a passive income gold mine.

$74,000

That’s how much a guy has made renting out his yard. His secret? An app called Neighbor, which connects people who need parking or storage with folks who have extra space. He has about 21 spots for things like RVs, boats and buses, renting for anywhere between $90 and $200 a month. BRB, measuring my driveway.

💸 Something borrowed: Need a tool for just one job? Renting can save you big, but most rental listings aren’t clearly marketed on sites like Facebook Marketplace. Look for keywords like “daily rate,” “for rent” or “short-term use.” If the price seems surprisingly low, it’s likely a rental fee for the day or hour, not a sale price.

Less than five years: That’s when Nvidia’s CEO says humanoid robots working 24/7 will be mainstream. They’ll show up in factories first, since the tasks are specific. Renting one could run you about $100,000 a year. So maybe don’t expect one folding your laundry just yet.

Compassion for the win: Video Stop, the last video rental store in Pocatello, Idaho, is closing. But owner David Kraning created a small replica called “Christina’s Corner” in his convenience store. It’s named after Christina Cavanaugh, a woman with Down syndrome who has been a loyal customer renting videos every day for 15 years. Love this.
