🚨 Built to be recalled: Have a Ford truck? They’re recalling over 355,000 after the dashboards started ghosting drivers. If you’ve got a model from 2025-26 (including F-150 and Super Duty lines), you might be missing key info like speed and warning lights. Fixes will be free and come via over-the-air updates or at a dealer. Just make sure yours gets it.

1 million

The number of AI GPUs Elon’s stuffing into one building. That’s not a typo. It’s a silicon army so power-hungry, xAI is shipping in a literal power plant to feed it. The data center will suck up 2 gigawatts. That’s enough juice to keep the lights on in nearly 2 million households. Forget cloud computing, this is thunderstorm computing.

🚨 Find hidden cameras: Do a quick sweep by turning off the lights and shining your phone’s flashlight around vents, smoke detectors, remote controls, wall outlets and other random objects. Hidden lenses will reflect back at you. Want a pro-level check? This hidden camera detector spots bugs, trackers and cams in seconds.

👀 Interviews go analog: AI cheating has gotten so bad, big names like Google, Cisco and McKinsey are dragging job interviews back into the real world (paywall link). Forget whispering to ChatGPT off-screen, now you have to sweat under fluorescent lights like it’s 2015 again. In case you forgot, the real world is like Zoom, but with pants.

Smarten up, buttercup

🧠 More smart stuff: I count on these gadgets to simplify my life. They’ll make things easier for you, too.

🕯️ Lights out: Spain and Portugal got power-washed into the 1800s on Monday. The entire grid collapsed in 3.5 seconds, and power was out across entire countries for several hours. Spain’s thinking the massive blackout is sabotage. Some blame Russia. Others say freak weather. Either way, lights are back, but answers are not.

Lights, candles, action

⚡ Ready to brighten up your space? I’ll light the way.

  • These night-lights (9% off) automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn.
  • Stick some cabinet lights (15% off) anywhere you need a little glow-up.
  • Twist the dial on these dimmable lights (5% off) to set the perfect mood.

🪀 RIP, cheap stuff: The days of filling carts with $2 eyebrow stamp kits and glow-in-the-dark toilet lights might be numbered. Global trade crackdowns (like killing the “de minimis” tax loophole) are making it harder for cheap imports from places like Temu and SHEIN to flood U.S. markets. Goodbye, weird little gadgets. You served … some purpose.

Sleeping bag = nap-sack

😴 Hey, sleepyhead. These bedroom upgrades will help you wind down.

🛍️ Hang on: Organize your closet and shave minutes off your morning routine with these metal hangers for pants and skirts.

🚘 It’s a car, not a phone: Volkswagen gets it. After plenty of complaints, VW is ditching haptic sliders and touch controls and bringing back physical buttons. Climate control, hazard lights and volume will return to good old-fashioned knobs. The change starts rolling out next year.

Smart home FYI: LED lights might be the problem if your garage door openers stop working. They emit the same frequency and can interfere with remote controls. Genie and LiftMaster sell special bulbs that don’t.

It’s a goldmine: Your printer stores copies of docs you’ve printed. If yours is spitting out random documents or your settings are funky, reset it to factory defaults. Unplug the printer, then press and hold the Reset button (on the back or bottom). While holding, plug the printer back in and turn it on. In about 20 seconds, lights will flash to tell you it’s done.

Bit by the DIY bug?

🔨 It doesn’t have to be hard. Here are some little products that make a big difference.

  • Fill up paint pens ($25 for a set of five; 17% off), and touch up scratches on doors and walls without having to redo an entire area. Easy!
  • If there’s one thing that ruins the front of a house, it’s oil stains in the driveway. It’s a good thing concrete oil stain remover is under $20.
  • While you’re waiting to scrub the oil remover, why not install new garage door handles ($10)? They make a boring door look way classier.
  • Decorative stick-on ceiling tiles add a ton of personality to a room. Click the box for $10 off.
  • Motion-sensor cabinet lights ($30) are a game-changer. We have them in our garage.

🔋 Charged up: I found this battery organizer ($24) after spending 20 minutes digging through my junk drawer for one AA. The name’s so funny, too.
