📺 Wait, what was I watching? Roku has you covered. Go to the Home Screen, hit What to Watch and scroll to Continue Watching. Your shows are waiting to pick up where you left off.

Are you autoplaying me? If you have a Roku, you might’ve seen annoying video ads pop up before you get to your home screen. You can’t even skip them. Roku says it’s just a test. Sure.

Clean up your iPad dock: Go to Settings > Home Screen & App Library > Dock. Toggle off Show App Library in Dock and Show Suggested and Recent Apps in Dock. FYI: You can still open the App Library by swiping all the way right, and recent apps will likely be on your Home Screen already.

Move iPhone apps at once: Want to clean up your Home Screen without deleting anything? Long-press an app to enter jiggle mode and start dragging it. With another finger, tap other apps to add them to your stack. Once you’ve got them all, swipe to the App Library and let go.

Add a website to your iPad Home Screen: In Safari, tap the Share button (top right) and choose Add to Home Screen. Give it a name, hit Done, and it’ll show up as an icon you can move like any app. Much better than digging through bookmarks for your favorites.

📱 Tidy up your Home Screen: On Android, new app shortcuts can automatically appear after installs, which clutters things up fast. To stop this, long-press any empty area on your Home Screen, tap Settings, then find Add icon to Home Screen or Add new apps to Home Screen and toggle it Off.

🍏 Reopen a lost Safari window on iPad: If you closed one by accident, it’s easy to bring it back. Just leave Safari and long-press the app icon in your Dock or Home Screen. Tap Show All Windows, then hit + Reopen Closed Window in the top-left corner. Boom, you can pick up where you left off, tabs and all.

Master iPad gestures: In any app, swipe up from the bottom to return to the Home screen. Swipe sideways on the bottom bar to switch between apps. Want the Dock? Swipe up slowly from the bottom. You can also drag an app from the Dock to the side to multitask in a new window.

Resize iPhone apps: Want your Home Screen icons bigger or smaller? Long-press anywhere on the Home Screen, tap Edit (top left), then hit Customize. When the menu pops up, pick Small for compact icons or Large for bigger ones. FYI: The Large setting will hide the app names.

🍏 Turn websites into apps on iPad: Visit a site often? Save it as an app on your Home Screen. Open Safari > go to the site > tap the Share button (top right) > select Add to Home Screen > rename it > and hit Add. Bonus: You can also drag the new website icon(s) into your Dock and group them together.

Hide new apps: To ease up on new apps crowding your iPad’s Home Screen, go to Settings > Home Screen & App Library > Newly Downloaded Apps and select App Library Only. Then, toggle on Show App Library in Dock. Next time you open the dock, you’ll see the App Library icon in the bottom-right corner.

Read me: Getting to your home screen on Kindle can be tricky. If you have a book open, tap the top of the screen > back arrow > Home. From the Kindle store, hit the X icon > Home. FYI, if your Kindle is older, look for a house icon (top left) or a physical home button.

📱 Less clutter, more focus: Too many apps on your home screen make it way too easy to get distracted. Clear them out! On iPhone: Press and hold the app > Remove App > Remove from Home Screen. On Android: Long-press the app > Remove. You can find them later in your App Menu or Library

Get some space: I’m always surprised when I see someone’s iPhone home screen covered in icons. It’s easy to sort them into folders. Press on an app icon until it starts to jiggle. Now, move it on top of another one that you’d like to pair it with. Bam, folder. Name it whatever you want.
