Bow wow

A former police officer is using a heat-seeking drone to track down missing dogs. So far, he’s reunited 42 dogs with their families. Here’s an adorable clip of a pup lost in the snow. His little tail wags like crazy when he sees his owner. I’m so excited that I’m getting a new puppy. Meet Bella.

🦜 Scammers’ new low: Two domestic abuse survivors in Cleveland connected through a Facebook post about a parrot named Precious, hoping the rescue would bring some comfort and healing. But it turned out to be a scam. The so-called rescue used stolen business info to appear legitimate, took their money and disappeared. Drones, stand down: Personal drones are jamming up rescue ops during deadly floods in Texas, just like they did during the LA fires and Hurricane Helene. It’s not heroic, it’s borderline criminal. Some folks hear “no-fly zone” and take it as a challenge. Morons.

🥾 Going hiking? Your map app might send you off a cliff. UK mountain rescue teams were called out last year. Blame bad directions and folks blindly following routes. So, use a proper map, learn a few survival basics and maybe pack a flare just in case. “Recalculating route” shouldn’t mean straight into the abyss.
