Instead of using a slide projector to display your vacation photos onto your living room wall, nowadays people just post the photos onto their Facebook wall. But what if your older, favorite footage hasn't caught up with all of the technological advances?
Recently we told you about services that allow you to convert your old media into DVDs. You have several options for modernizing old video tapes, old photos, and slides. Your best option may be Walmart's YesVideo service.
Walmart's DVD transfer service works on all types of media, including VHS tapes, film reels, photos, slides, and even digitally stored media. You can either drop your items off at the store's photo center or mail it in.
Their price point is pretty easy to remember because $24.96 seems to be the magic number. For nearly $25 you can convert one video tape that's up to 2 hours in length, 100 feet of film, 165 images (slides or photos), 90 minutes of digital video or 540 digital images onto one DVD.
It's 20 cents for each additional foot of film and 15 cents for each additional slide or photo. They accept several different types of tapes, photos, film sizes, and memory cards. If your footage was shot in HD then you can convert it to a Blue-ray Disc for a little bit extra.
Other companies have the same service at a similar price point but Walmart has customization options that make them stand out from the crowd.
The finished DVD will include a menu with chapters, three trailers, your choice of music, and a free personal site you can use to edit the video and share it with others.
