I saw this chart from App Economy Insights and wanted to share it with you. Everybody thinks SpaceX is a rocket company. The money says otherwise.Â
Of the $18.7 billion it brought in last year, rockets accounted for $4.1 billion. The real cash cow is Starlink, the satellite internet beamed to RVs, cabins and cruise ships, which pulled in $11.4 billion from nearly 9 million subscribers. There’s even a new AI slice now that SpaceX swallowed xAI. And the kicker?
Despite all of it, the company still lost $2.6 billion running the place. Launching rockets is the easy part. Paying for them is where things get a little spacey.
