Social media platforms let you pin a post to the top of your page so your audience always sees it first. You don’t have to be an influencer to unleash the power of pinning.

Now you can do the same thing on your iPhone and computer. Go ahead and save entire conversations or pin just important links and computer programs.

You can pin things using iPhone Messenger or tack them onto your computer’s taskbar. Keep reading to learn how.

How to pin messages on your iPhone:

If you’re using iOS 15 or newer, you can use the Messages app to pin conversations and links for easy reference later. Save that vital convo so it doesn’t get lost next time someone calls to ask about that work meeting. It’s fast and easy.

How to pin entire conversations on your iPhone:

  • Open Messages.
  • Tap and hold the conversation thread with the person you want to keep at the top of the list.
  • Tap Pin.

The conversation will appear at the top of your Messages app until you unpin it.

How to unpin conversations on your iPhone

  • Open the Messages app.
  • Tap Edit.
  • Tap Edit Pins.
  • Tap the minus sign – on the conversation you want to unpin.

Who asked for this? If you don’t like how Microsoft put the Start menu for Windows 11 in the middle of the screen, move it back to its original home on the left. Head to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Crisis averted!

Secret button in your Windows 10 and 11 taskbar: Clicking it will minimize everything you have open. It’s located in the bottom right corner of your screen, past the time and notification icon — a tiny sliver. Click it again to bring your stuff back. Good one!

Take me back: Windows 11 places the Start button and taskbar icons in the center of the screen by default, but you can move them back to the left. Go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. From there, switch the Taskbar alignment to Left.

When you just need space to think: Press Windows key + D on a PC to close all your open windows to the taskbar and see only your desktop. On a Mac, ​​press Cmd + M to minimize your open windows.

Now you see it, now you don’t: Give your apps and webpages a little more elbow room by hiding the Windows taskbar. You can set it to auto-hide by right-clicking on it and selecting Taskbar settings > Taskbar behaviors > Automatically hide the taskbar.
