Vehicle recalls: Dodge Rams, Chevys, Chryslers and more
Many vehicles have been recalled this year, but manufacturers aren’t entirely done issuing safety notices. More than 5 million vehicles were impacted over six months, but another 2 million are being added to the list.
In what will hopefully be the last recall of 2022, the issues span from airbag problems to tailgates not latching properly. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) also warned not to drive certain vehicles.

Here’s the backstory
If you drive a specific Dodge Ram truck, there is a possibility that your tailgate has a misaligned striker. Fiat Chrysler warned that some tailgates don’t latch properly, leading to them opening while driving. The impacted models are:
- 2019-22 Ram 1500.
- 2019-22 Dodge Ram 2500.
- 2019-2022 Dodge Ram 3500.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Jan. 27, 2023. You may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC’s number for this recall is ZB8.

More Takata airbag issues
There is also a severe do not drive warning for 10 other Dodge models. They have a dangerous problem with the installed Takata airbags, where a third person has died from the airbags exploding.
According to the NHTSA, long-term exposure to high heat and humidity can cause these airbags to explode when deployed.
