How often have you found yourself engrossed in an app only to be interrupted by a prompt asking you to rate and review it in Apple’s App Store? This can be annoying, especially if you use many apps daily. Well, there’s a way to stop those prompts, and we’ll show you how.

The review is up to you

Ratings and reviews are essential for developers to gauge their audience’s likes or dislikes about their apps. In-app review reminders get more users to enter the app store and voice their opinions. Others use these ratings to decide whether or not to download the app in the first place.

You can rate and review an app whether you love or hate it. But there should be no pressure or obligation. In-app review prompts can pop up at inconvenient moments. You may be deep into a boss battle in a game or putting fine touches on your artwork in a sketching app.

With iOS 11, Apple introduced the option to turn off in-app review requests. You can also do this on your iPad. All it takes is a few simple steps:

  • Go to Settings > App Store.
  • Toggle off the switch next to In-App Ratings & Reviews.

That’s it. You can always turn it back on again if you change your mind. And you can still review apps on your own without the prompts.

With iOS 15, Apple gave iPhone and iPad users the option to review some of the native apps that come with the devices, such as Stocks, Mail, Weather, Podcasts, News and Voice Memos. Tap or click here for details and instructions.
