5 million bottles of household cleaner recalled — Check your home
It would be nice if every product we used was guaranteed to be safe, but that’s why we have recalls. The risks can range from mild to deadly. Here’s what you need to know about a popular brand of sunscreen that contains a cancer-causing ingredient.
Even your cleaning products could send you to the hospital. Check your cabinets for Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner. On Wednesday, the manufacturer recalled almost 5 million bottles due to potential bacteria contamination.
Simply put, a dangerous flub during manufacturing means your cleaners could grow unhealthy bacteria. Use these products and you could develop a severe infection.
Sunday chores could send you to the hospital
The problem boils down to a lack of preservatives. That means these products could develop bacteria that pose an extra danger to the following groups:
- People with underlying lung conditions.
- People with external medical devices.
- People with weakened immune systems.
You can become infected just by breathing in the bacteria. It can also enter your body through the eyes or a break in the skin. You should be OK if you have a healthy immune system, but Fabuloso says you should throw away the affected products.
