The future is hybrid

Volvo just dropped its all-electric plan, joining other carmakers moving away from EVs. With limited charging stations and a focus on hybrids, the push for electric cars is losing steam.

⚡ Electric hopes, gasoline habits: An extended-range electric vehicle, or EREV, is an EV with a gas engine that acts as a generator. It could eliminate the range anxiety dilemma for new EV drivers. Here’s the catch: Owners of hybrid vehicles often skip plugging in and just rely on gas; EREV drivers will probably end up doing the same.

🔥 Jeeps recalled: Nearly 200,000 plug-in hybrid SUVs can catch on fire, even with the ignitions off. Yikes! If you have a 2020 to 2024 Wrangler 4xe or 2022 to 2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe, call your dealership ASAP. Don’t charge it, and be sure to keep it outside, away from all structures.
