Privacy and security seem to be on everyone’s mind today. Which makes sense, because cybercriminals are constantly on the attack.
It doesn’t matter if you’re waiting for a connecting flight at the airport or in the comfort of your own home, hackers will find you. They might be watching your every move over public Wi-Fi or trying to get an up close and personal look at you through your webcam.
As part of their big privacy revamp, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a full audit and investigation of all third-party apps. Two months in, the results are public – and somewhat stunning. Facebook has suspended 200 apps for possible data misuse.
Prices for the latest and greatest gadgets are skyrocketing. Since Apple and Samsung make some of the best devices, they’re always in demand. Sometimes, finding good deals on the tech gadgets that we desire is an art form.

Thankfully, there are browser extensions you can use to temporarily suspend your open tabs to get back to them later.
Have you ever been victimized by “porch thieves” AKA “porch pirates” AKA “porch robbers”? You know the type; they roam neighborhood streets and steal delivered packages off a home’s front door or porch. With people increasingly opting to shop online, expect these numbers to go up.

There are security measures in place to help you, like the WiFi Alliance’s WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access). That’s simply a way to protect your internet communications with encryption and other systems to make it difficult for hackers to steal your data, like when you’re using public Wi-Fi. However, the current WPA2 standard is showing its age. The good news is the WiFi Alliance is starting to roll out WPA3 this year.
