Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 · Based on Experience
Here’s What You Need to Know
5 million people tune in to the Kim Komando Show every week. We’re on 510 radio stations and SiriusXM. And our YouTube channel? It’s one of the biggest untapped opportunities in digital media right now.
That’s where you come in.
We’re not looking for someone who “knows YouTube.” We’re looking for someone who lives it, breathes it, and loses sleep over a drop in the click-through rate. Someone who can look at a 45-minute radio segment and already see the five Shorts hiding inside it.
This is a full-time, in-studio position at our Phoenix headquarters. No remote. No hybrid. You’re here, in the building, making things happen alongside a team that moves fast and loves tech as much as you do.
You won’t just manage a channel. You’ll own it. And two brand-new podcasts. This is the ground floor of something big.
What You’ll Actually Do
YouTube Channel (The Big One)
- Own the entire Kim Komando YouTube channel, from strategy to publishing to performance analysis
- Optimize every upload: titles, thumbnails, descriptions, tags, chapters, end screens, the whole playbook
- Grow the channel, month over month, with a real strategy. Not guesses. Data.
- Create and produce YouTube Shorts from existing show content and original ideas
- Conduct and produce on-camera client interviews for tech brands, CEOs, and innovators
- Collaborate with Kim and the production team on segment concepts built for video-first storytelling
The Podcasts (Brand New Territory)
- Help launch and grow two new podcasts connected to the Kim Komando brand
- Develop episode formats, guest pipelines, and audience growth tactics
- Write and produce cross-promotional content for the podcasts across our radio show, YouTube, and newsletters
- Build the kind of listener loyalty that turns casual fans into superfans
Marketing & Cross-Platform Promotion
- Write compelling podcast promos for on-air use across 510 radio stations
- Create newsletter-ready content for The Current (daily) and Splash of AI (Thursdays)
- Develop promotional clips and audiograms that actually get played and clicked
- Track what’s working, kill what isn’t, and report results to leadership weekly
You’re the One If…
- You are obsessed with YouTube. You know what CTR means, why it matters, and how to move it.
- You love technology. Not in a “I have a smartphone” way. In a “I read the changelog” way.
- You have 2+ years of experience growing a YouTube channel or managing a podcast with real audience numbers
- You can write. Short punchy copy for promos. Longer narrative copy for newsletters. You adapt your voice.
- You’re comfortable on camera and behind it. Producing interviews is part of this job.
- You understand SEO: not just web SEO, but YouTube SEO, podcast SEO, and why they’re different
- You have experience with video editing tools (Adobe Premiere, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
- You are a Phoenix local. Or you’re ready to move here. This job is in the studio, full-time, period.
- You thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. We are not a committee. We move.
Bonus Points If You…
- Have experience in talk radio, syndicated media, or news/information content
- Know your way around beehiiv, Spotify for Podcasters, or YouTube Studio analytics cold
- Have launched a podcast from zero and grown it past 10,000 downloads
- Can look at a 3-minute clip and know in 10 seconds if it has legs as a Short
- Have worked with brand sponsors or managed endorsement-style content
