Search without Google tracking you

Search without Google tracking you

Google is the king of search - I use it dozens of time a day - but it's not the most privacy-friendly search site out there. It stores your information for advertising and who knows what else.

If that worries you, take your privacy into your own hands with an alternative search site. DuckDuckGo gives you the power and customizability of Google search without the seedy advertiser tracking.

DuckDuckGo doesn't track your IP address or store your search history. This means you won't see targeted search results like you might on Google, and there's nothing for the government to snoop on.

What you will get with DuckDuckGo is a customizable interface and plenty of handy search features. Click on the three horizontal lines icon in the upper right corner and choose Settings to manage your results, privacy, colors and layout.

DuckDuckGo has many of Google's features, like a calculator and unit converter. Just type "2 + 2" or "800 grams in pounds" into the search bar to get an immediate answer.

DuckDuckGo adds images, recipes and places to its search results to help you find exactly what you're looking for. There's even an Instant Answers feature that is just as good, if not better than, Google's Knowledge Graph.

Want to browse privately on the go? Click here to download the DuckDuckGo companion app from my site.
