Why we think aliens look the way they do?

You are probably already picturing it now, little green men with large heads and black almond-shaped eyes. This has been the stereotypical image of an alien, and we see it everywhere from movies to emojis. However, there have been other depictions of aliens over the years, but they all seem to resemble some sort of life on earth.
