Where are we supposed to store all this nuclear waste?

Back in the 1950s, nuclear power was promoted as the ultimate solution for energy. Experts said that by the year 2000, energy would become too cheap to meter, with every home in America powered by atomic power. Well, 2000 came and went, and nuclear power continues to generate record amounts of poisonous waste — about 2,200 tons every year. How are we supposed to get rid of all this radioactive sludge?
