Astronomers recently took the very first photo of a black hole’s silhouette. The image, while grainy, is still an astonishing scientific feat. Turns out that black hole is doing something many scientists believed to be impossible — but there’s no arguing with the data. It might be the only time we ever get to see this phenomenon.
