It’s alive! In a moment straight out of science fiction, scientists have created lab-grown brain that can move muscles. This miniature brain, only the size of a bean, was able to join with cells that came from a donors spinal cord, forming a miniature nervous system in a petri dish. Are these mini-brains conscious? No, but their development may hold the key to understanding how neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s develop over time.
