Is it possible to melt obsidian and make a sword?

Obsidian is a pretty sharp mineral that’s closely related to glass. It’s been used in knives and other objects before, but only in methods that don’t involve heating it down. This is because obsidian has a very high melting point, something that is difficult to achieve in a regular kiln. But one man is prepared to test the limits of melting obsidian, and hopefully forging a sword.
