Bionic eye may treat blindness

Scientists are very close to creating a prosthetic, bionic eye that can communicate with the brain via electrical pulses in much the same way as normal retinas. This exciting technology could help the more than 10 million people in the U.S. facing blindness due to diseases of the retina.
