Dr. Mike Winkler, a radiologist at the University of Kentucky, wanted to find a better way to help patients understand their diagnoses and access medical files — so he created an app. Mixing Cup allows doctors to compress large 3D images into a format that can be emailed or sent via text to a patient immediately. Physicians can then walk patients through what’s going on inside their bodies using a whole new perspective.
