Before you upgrade to Windows 11, read this warning to save yourself a lot of time
Microsoft’s Windows operating system is the most widely used when it comes to personal computers. That love hasn’t necessarily extended to the recent release of Windows 11, though. Tap or click here to see why Windows 11 computers are filled with empty folders.
Since its launch, there have been several issues plaguing the OS, and many are understandably frustrated. Updates were pushed out to correct some of the problems.
If you aren’t enamored with Windows 11, you might need to decide quickly. Read on to find out why you don’t have a lot of time to change your mind.
Here’s the backstory
Since the announcement of Windows 11 and its minimum system requirements, users have been scratching their heads, wondering how Microsoft determined this. High-powered machines seemingly weren’t compatible, while some lesser PCs met the criteria.
If you are still unsure if you can run Windows 11, you can use Microsoft’s PC Health app. Through a small download, the app will scan your components and specifications and let you know if you meet system requirements.

Windows 11 is somewhat different from what users are familiar with, so naturally, some want to roll back to Windows 10. It seems that this can be harder than necessary.
There is a function built into the operating system that allows you to revert to a previous version of Windows. Open the Settings menu, click on Update & Security and then Recovery. From there, click Get Started under the Go back to the previous version of Windows section to reinstall the earlier version.
It seems simple enough. But people have recently discovered that the option to go back to Windows 10 is greyed out. It has been revealed that Microsoft turns off the option 10 days after the installation of Windows 11.
What you can do about it
If you want to go back after 10 days, the only recourse you will have is reinstalling a fresh copy of Windows 10. And possibly lose all your files and apps. The same happened when Windows 10 launched with a longer cushion. If users wanted to go back to Windows 8, the time allowed was 30 days.
The short of it: if you don’t like Windows 11, you will only have 10 days to go back to Windows 10 if you so choose.
