Making money online is not just for big brands, e-commerce store owners or niche entrepreneurs. Almost anyone can become a profitable influencer with the right content and an engaged audience. 

Lately, a new player has entered the influencer arena: Amazon. Capitalizing on this modern way to sell products, Amazon has cut out the middleman and is attracting influencers from social platforms into their consumers’ shopping experience. It’s called Amazon Inspire, and it’s only been available to the public since May 2023.

Can you inspire?

Yes. If you do some research and set it up correctly. So jump in! Become an early adopter and try your hand at building your income stream on this new platform. 

To qualify, you need to:

  • Be based in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan or India.
  • Have a social media following of 1,000 or more. Facebook, YouTube, Instagram or TikTok will do.
  • Be approved by the Amazon Influencer Program once you fill out your application.

Once you’ve been approved for the Amazon Influencer Program, you can create a dedicated storefront.

So, how much can you make?

What you earn depends on what (and how much) you sell. The commission is a percentage rate, and those vary per category. Luxury beauty? You earn 5% of the sale price. For home products and furniture, 4%. The percentages are pretty low for tech products, btw.

What (and how!) to sell

Though you don’t need to worry about inventory, rent or any other headache that comes with a brick-and-mortar store, some standard sales practices remain the same.

As you build and promote your storefront, keep some key selling tips in mind.

Get focused: Choose products that your followers are interested in.

Don’t know what those are, exactly? Ask! Write a blog post with a few different options of what you want to “research and test” for them. Ask for feedback on what they’d prefer. This will help get more clicks and sales for your storefront.

Picture perfect: Use creative, high-quality images and videos to showcase your recommended products. Not only will this make your content more visually appealing and engaging, but it will put your stamp on your storefront and make you stand out in what’s soon sure to be a crowded marketplace.

Get detailed: Take the time to pen informative and engaging product descriptions. This helps your followers to learn more about the products you’re recommending and make better-informed purchase decisions.

Pro tip: Don’t be afraid to get personal! The more you talk about how each product specifically helps you in your own life, the more your followers/buyers will be able to relate. 

Promo, promo, promo: Mention your Amazon Inspire Influencer storefront regularly. On your blog, on your social media platforms and in emails. The more people know about your storefront, the more sales you generate.
