Iconic: It’s easy to adjust the icon size on your computer. On Windows, right-click on your desktop, select View, and choose from Large icons, Medium icons or Small icons. On a Mac, click on your desktop to ensure you’re in the Finder. From the menu bar, go to View and choose Show View Options. A window will pop up where you can adjust the icon size using a slider.

Experimental AI F-16: That’s a lot of scary letters and numbers. Last week, Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall flew over 550 mph in an F-16 piloted completely by AI. After the hourlong flight, Kendall said he’d seen enough to trust AI to launch weapons in war. Big words and he says, it’s a security risk not to use this tech.

Randy Travis’ new AI hit: In 2013, country singer Randy Travis (“Forever and Ever, Amen,” “Deeper Than the Holler”) suffered a near-fatal stroke that left him unable to sing. Longtime producer Kyle Lehning put together a new song using an AI version of Travis’ voice, with his blessing. Take a listen here. It’s really good.

Google is so dead: OpenAI plans to release its own search engine as early as May 9. They want to steal Google’s thunder ahead of its upcoming developer conference, where they’re making big AI announcements. I love the drama. When companies beef, we all win.

Apple win: The FDA just named the Apple Watch an official “medical device development tool” for its atrial fibrillation tracker. This means Apple Watches will soon collect data in clinical studies. It’s the first digital health device to achieve that status. Super cool.

VPN trouble: Microsoft’s April security update is causing some VPN connections to fail on Windows 11 (versions 23H2, 22H2 and 21H2) and Windows 10 (versions 22H2 and 21H2). No patch date announced yet, so beware: Your IP address and location could be exposed. I’ll let you know when they fix this.

Cybercriminals and spies targeting routers: Hackers’ new side hustle is charging Chinese and Russian spies and scammers for access to old routers so they can launch denial-of-service (DoS) attacks or send scammy spam emails. If your device is more than three years old, it’s time to upgrade.
