Picture a humanoid stepping out of a minivan, carrying cleaning supplies and heading toward your sink like this isn’t the start of a bad sci-fi movie.

Tau Robotics is testing robot housecleaning around the Bay Area for $30 an hour. The catch is a human operator controls it remotely while AI helps. For now, even picking up floor clutter remains difficult, as my old college roommate would agree. 

I like the price but not the mystery stranger touring my pantry by camera.
