Boost iPhone downloads: When you download multiple apps at once, your iPhone tries to install them all together. That’s fine on fast Wi-Fi, but not great if your connection is spotty. To speed up the one you need, go to App Library > Recently Added > long-press the app > tap Prioritize Download. It’ll go first.

📱 For your phone: Swipe down on your home screen to open quick settings like Bluetooth, Airplane mode and Do Not Disturb. Even better, you can customize what’s there. On Android, hit the pencil icon. On iPhone, head to Settings > Control Center.

I set this up and love it! Now, you can use your iPhone right on your Mac with macOS Sequoia 15 and iOS 18. Just make sure they’re near each other, signed into the same Apple ID and updated. Look for iPhone Mirroring in your Dock or go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Continuity > iPhone Mirroring to turn it on.

Hide new apps: To ease up on new apps crowding your iPad’s Home Screen, go to Settings > Home Screen & App Library > Newly Downloaded Apps and select App Library Only. Then, toggle on Show App Library in Dock. Next time you open the dock, you’ll see the App Library icon in the bottom-right corner.

iCloud+ subscription? Buy a custom email like you@yourname.com from your iPhone. All you need is an iCloud Mail account and two-factor authentication turned on. Then go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Mail > Custom Email Domain > Continue > Buy a Domain. Search for the domain name you want, pick it if it’s available and follow the prompts to buy it. Neat.

Copy text with your iPhone camera: Go to Settings > General > Language & Region and turn on Live Text. Then head to Settings > Camera and toggle on Show Detected Text. Open the Camera app, line up the document and tap the Live Text icon. Now grab the text and paste it into Notes.

Split screen on iPad: Want two apps open at once? Turn your iPad sideways and open the first app. Tap the three-dot menu at the top and select Split View. The app will move to one side. Swipe up to open the Dock and drag the second app over. Now use the divider to adjust space between them.

📋 Easy copy & paste: Apple’s Universal Clipboard lets you copy from your Mac right onto your iPhone or iPad. Just make sure they’re all signed in with the same Apple ID and turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. On each one, go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Continuity (or AirPlay & Handoff) and toggle on Handoff.

Write swipes: Swipe up from the bottom right of your iPad to open a Quick Note and jot down an idea. Head to Settings > Multitasking & Gestures and toggle on Swipe Finger from Corner to turn this on. You can also choose what each corner does, like taking a Screenshot with a swipe from the bottom left.

Kiddos under 13? Here’s how to create an Apple ID for them. Apple may ask for your credit card or state ID to confirm you’re an adult. Head to Settings > Family > Add Member > Create Child Account > Continue. Double-check their name and birthday. Changing it later is tricky.

Save links with Quick Note: Browsing a website on your iPad and spot something you want to remember? While you’re on the page, swipe diagonally from the bottom-right corner to open a Quick Note. Tap Add Link in the top-left corner, then hit Done. Later, open the Notes app, tap the link and pick up where you left off.

⌨️ Shrink your iPad keyboard: Hate how the keyboard takes up half the screen in apps like Messages? You can make it smaller. Just place two fingers on the keyboard and pinch inward. It’ll turn into a smaller, floating keyboard you can drag anywhere. Want it back to full size? Pinch outward with two fingers.

⌚ Watch for noise: Your Apple Watch’s built-in Noise app can check if the sounds around you are too loud. Open the app on your watch and tap Enable to start tracking. To see how often you’re in noisy spots, go to the Health app > Browse (bottom right) > Hearing > Environmental Sound Levels. Now your watch can judge your eardrum choices, too.

⌨️ iPad typing trick: Did you know you can use the space bar as a trackpad? Just tap and hold the space bar, wait for the keys to fade out and you’ll be able to move the cursor through text easily. Trying to select text? While still holding down, tap once on the keyboard with another finger, then let go. You can now highlight the text you want.

Cmd + spacebar: This Mac shortcut opens Spotlight, an incredibly powerful tool for finding documents quickly, opening apps or searching the web right from your desktop.
