7 websites that will save you a ton of money

Who doesn't like saving money these days? With living expenses seemingly always on the rise, it's a good idea to find ways to save a little here and there.

You're in luck. There are seven websites that you need to know about that will help keep some of your hard-earned cash in your pocket.

WhistleOut

Trying to figure out which mobile service provider will give you the best bang for your buck is tricky. WhistleOut is a free comparison site that does the work for you.

Not only does it compare phone prices, wireless plans, and the cost of additional lines, but it also factors in special offers and fees. The site compares data from 32 suppliers and nearly 390,000 cellphone plan combinations.

You can filter your results by selecting the number of phone lines you'll need, whether or not you want a new phone, the usage plan (data, minutes, messages), and networks. Click "Search 32 Carriers" and the site will pull up a chart with all the plans you can select from. The search results will include the monthly cost of the plan, how much is due upfront, the data plan and the carrier offering that option.

Ecofont Vera Sans

Do you know that certain fonts can save you ink which in turn can save you money? Ecofont Vera Sans is a typeface that puts a bunch of tiny holes in each letter so it saves ink - up to 28 percent to be exact.

You wouldn't want to use it for a formal paper or wedding invitation, of course, but for everyday printing, it works great. And the best part is that Ecofont Vera Sans is free to download and use. Note: Make sure you get Vera Sans regular because other types of fonts from Ecofont cost money.

You must enter your name and email address in the provided fields to download the Ecofont. Click the green "Download" button and you will arrive at the fonts page. Click on a font link to download that font to your computer. I recommend downloading the .zip file.

When fonts have finished downloading, you will need to extract the font from the .zip folder and then install the font files into your local font folder. Once the font is installed on your computer, you can select it in any of your document programs to save money whenever you print.

Undebt.it

Studies show that the average American household has $90,000 of debt. Undebt.it wants to help; it is a free site that offers debt management tools and payment plans.

People can choose from several payment methods, such as the Debt Snowball plan where you pay the lowest balance off first or the Debt Avalanche plan where you pay off the highest interest rate first. They can also create their own customized plan and change plans whenever they want.

First, you create a free account (you can use your Google account to sign up if you want). Then you fill in your debt information, including balances, interest rates, and minimum payments (account numbers and other personal information is never collected).

Use that information to compare payment plans and pick one that works best for you. Your dashboard shows when your debts will be paid, records payments, lists due dates and gives a progress report.

Freecycle

The Freecycle Network started in Tucson, Arizona as a way to keep reusable items out of landfills. Freecycle is a nonprofit that organizes online "gifting groups;" instead of throwing away perfectly good stuff you can donate it to someone in your area (like Craigslist but free). The network consists of over 5,000 gifting groups with over 9 million members and operates in over 110 countries.

From the home page, you enter your city and state into the site's search bar and then choose a city gifting group to search in. From there, you will see a list of orange "Offer" posts and green "Wanted" posts. Click "See details" for photos and descriptions.

Before you can reply to a post, the site will tell you that you must create a free account and join that gifting group. You can sign up through Facebook if you want and Freecycle won't post to your wall.

 Yipit

Yipit is a website built for shoppers. The site aggregates the best deals and offers available online and identifies the most appropriate ones for each user based on their unique preferences. It partners with other sites such as Groupon, LivingSocial, Travelzoo and hundreds more to find the best offers.

Researchers scour the internet for the best deals and discounts and even some freebies. You even get pro tips on how to get the biggest bang for your buck.

The site is really simple to use. The first thing you need to do is select your city. Then enter a valid email address and you're on your way to savings.

Next, you choose things that you like to do and products that you're interested in buying. There are several categories to choose from like dining & nightlife, fitness, retail & services, and many more. Finally, enter your ZIP code and immediately you will begin seeing deals in each category that you selected. You can even sign up for a daily bargain hunter newsletter that will be delivered to your email.

Free Printables

FreePrintable.net offers thousands of printable documents and templates. The site provides beautiful printable files that you can customize and print on your inkjet or laser printer.

There are 99 sites in the Free Printable network. It's jam-packed with almost 42,000 printable templates and documents. You can print such things as birthday party invitations, business cards, writing templates, time sheets for work, and even letters from Santa Claus.

Use the search bar on the left to locate the template you're looking for, or click the links below it to browse by category. The front page has several thumbnails of popular templates. All you need to do is select what you want to print, click on it, and then download the free version that comes in PDF format.

MyCoupons

The MyCoupons website has been around for more than 20 years. It's the internet's oldest coupon, coupon code, and shopping forum related site. The site was created to provide users with the best discounts from one source.

You will find many categories to choose from. Clothing, computers, department stores, music, and electronics to name a few.

First, click on the category in which you're interested in finding discounts. You will see a list of known bargains, from all available items. Select all coupons, codes, sales or printable.

If it's a digital code for online shopping, you will see the code listed inside an orange rectangle. Just copy the code and enter it in the promo box that you will find during checkout on the website that you're making the purchase. The discount will then be applied.

If you're not shopping online and heading to a brick and mortar location, look for printable coupons. Just print out the available discount and take it to the location that it's intended for.
