How to save and delete every voicemail

Bonus tip: How to save voicemails from an iPhone

If you want to free up space on your iPhone by deleting voicemails but want to save them for later, you can save them to iTunes on your PC or Mac.

Saving voicemails from an iPhone

If you want to save voicemails to a PC you will need iExplorer. You can click here to download it for free. Once you have it follow these steps:

  • Connect your iPhone to your PC or Mac
  • Open iExplorer
  • Click on the Data tab in the Device Overview screen
  • Click on the Voicemail button
  • You will be asked if you want to create an iTunes backup if you have not done so on this computer; select Yes
  • If you've already created a backup in iTunes on this computer, iExplorer will ask if you'd like to Use Last Backup or Refresh to create a new one; select Refresh
  • Once iExplorer finishes loading your Voicemail, you will see a list of contacts and phone numbers
  • Select any of the names or numbers in the list to preview the voicemail
  • To Export the selected voicemail, click the Export Selected Voicemail button, or you can Export All
  • The voicemails you export are now saved in iTunes on your computer and can be accessed at any time
