Facebook is the place where we share nearly everything about our lives - our successes, our failures and everything in between.
When you have a new baby or welcome a new grandchild, a post goes up on Facebook. When you get a new job, a new car or meet a new friend, Facebook gets updated. When you capture a photo of a stunning sunset, it gets displayed on your Facebook timeline - and so forth.
When you consider how much of your life is documented on Facebook, it makes you wonder what else you can do with all of that information. All of the photos you've organized in your Facebook albums, and all of the posts you've shared to capture the ups and downs of life - don't you want to keep track of it?
The good news is, there's actually a way to archive everything you've ever shared on Facebook, including the things you've deleted.
Here's how you do it:
1. Log in, and pull up your Facebook settings
2. Click "Download a copy of your Facebook data"
3. Click "Start My Archive"
Once you begin your archive, you'll be asked to confirm your password. Then you'll get an email from Facebook notifying you that the request has been made. This email also contains a link that provides more information about the types of data your download will contain. It also informs you that another email will be sent once your download is complete.
When the process is finished, you'll receive that second email. It will contain a link that will allow you to download a Zip file that contains your data.
