How to digitally sign documents on a Mac

If you don’t want to type your name as a signature - or can’t - there’s a way to add your hand-written autograph using Preview on a Mac. All you need are a piece of paper, a pen, and your webcam.

  1. Sign a blank piece of paper
  2. Open any PDF in Preview
  3. Click the toolbox icon
  4. Click the signature icon
  5. Hold the paper to the camera
  6. Click "Done" after the signature is captured
  7. Insert your signature where appropriate

Preview will save your signature so you can use it on any document in the future, too!
