It's here! That buzz in the air is Super Bowl 50, airing on Sunday, February 7. More than 110 million people will watch on TV, and millions more sports fans will listen to it on the radio, stream it live, or watch online sports commentators and highlight videos.
Millions of people will also be attending Super Bowl parties. If you're having a Super Bowl party, or going to one, you can maximize the fun with these five must-have tech gadgets, websites and apps.
1. Big-screen TV
Of course, it's not really the Super Bowl without a big-screen TV. If you're like lots of people, you unwrapped a new TV on Christmas morning. There were just too many good deals to pass up.
Amazon had a 50-inch HDTV for $150. Wal-Mart had a 70-inch TV for less than $900. And several stores slashed prices to less than $1,000 on 4K TVs, which have four times as many pixels as HDTVs.
If you recently got a large-screen TV, great. But, if not, there's good news. While stores and online retailers cut prices before Christmas, they also cut prices in the days leading up to the Super Bowl.
Amazon, for instance, has a 40-inch high-definition LED TV for $230, a 42-inch 4K Ultra HDTV for $329, a 50-inch smart 4K TV for $548, and many others. In fact, it has an entire page of premium TVs for up to 40% off.
Wal-Mart is offering discounts, too, like a 55-inch HDTV for $568. Best Buy has a 65-inch 4K Ultra HDTV for less than $1,000. TVs are on sale just about everywhere, so check your favorite stores and online retailers.
