YouTube TV has increased its offering
Still somewhat new to the realm after launching a little less than one year ago, YouTube TV — the paid subscription service offered by the popular site — is competing with the likes of Sling TV, PlayStation VU and DirecTV Now. Each has their benefits, but at the end of the day, it’s still mostly about what channels people are able to watch.
In that regard, not all streaming services are created equal.
Therefore, the announcement this week that YouTube TV added Turner Broadcasting channels like TNT, TBS and CNN to its lineup came as a welcomed development.
YouTube TV also increased its sports offerings, with nationally-televised NBA games, NBA All-Star Weekend and NBA playoff games being included in its service. MLB postseason games and the MLB Network, as well as the PGA Championship and UEFA soccer, are also offered now.
NBA League Pass and MLB.TV can be added, albeit for an additional fee.
YouTube TV is accessible in 100 U.S. markets since launching in February 2017, giving them availability in 85 percent of U.S. households. It costs $35 per month, but the price will rise to $40 per month after March 13.
