Motorcycle road rage triggers horrifying crash caught on video!

According to recent statistics compiled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 66 percent of traffic deaths are caused by aggressive driving. More often than not, this aggressive behavior is caused by retaliatory responses or driver road rage.

Road rage incidents can happen to anyone and you can be on the short end of the deal even if you’re not the aggressor nor involved in the initial trigger event at all. Take this recent video of an incident that endangered the lives of, not only the principal culprits of the trigger event but all the innocent commuters on the road at that time as well.

This shocking video emerged recently and it appears to be a road-rage event on Santa Clarita’s 14 Freeway in California.

In the 22-second cellphone video, a motorcyclist is kicking the side of a moving car. The driver of the car retaliates by quickly swerving to the left in what appears to be an attempt to sideswipe the motorcyclist.

This retaliatory action caused the driver of the car to lose control of the vehicle, first by swerving to its right lane then hitting the freeway barrier to its left, lighting it up with sparks due to the speed and force of the collision.

The car then bounces off the barrier and, still careening out of control, it swerves to its right, hitting a white truck, flipping it violently multiples times. The out of control car spins before coming to a stop in the right slow lanes with white smoke billowing out of its damaged engine.

The motorcyclist involved in the accident never stopped and fled the scene. The California Highway Patrol is still searching for the perpetrator.

Fortunately, the driver of the white truck only suffered non-life threatening injuries while the driver of the car was uninjured.

Why dash cams are essential gadgets

This just shows how valuable video footage is especially when investigating road mishaps and accidents like this. Although the video was quickly captured on a cellphone, the footage could’ve been better if it was captured by an always-on dashcam, showing what happened even before the incident, which should aid the investigators immensely.

In fact, the number of road rage incidents in the U.S. is out of control. With a dash cam, you are able to capture all incidents with 100 percent accuracy.

Dash cams are great resources for documenting everything happening around you. If you get into an accident or are a victim of road rage, a dash cam will let the facts speak for themselves.
