How to stop robocalls and scams

Robocalls and phone scammers are getting worse. Most are merely annoying, but some can be terrifying, like the scammer who threatened to kill Lynda and William Webster. Webster’s name may sound familiar: He’s the former head of the FBI and CIA. Everyone is a target for scammers, from the average person to the powerful.

In March alone, more than 5 billion robocalls were made. That’s about 168 million calls a day. Most are simply annoying. Scammers can pull information from your Facebook account and know what your house looks like by using Google Earth so they can sound convincing.

As for the scammer threatening the Websters, he was recently sentenced to six years in prison. Lynda Webster offers some sound advice about remaining vigilant and contacting the FBI about robocallers or phone scammers.

Listen to this conversation, and along with hearing the Websters’ story, you’ll learn about some creative and hilarious ways people are getting even with robocalls, and get tips you can use today.
