It’s finally here! Amazon Prime Day 2018 is upon us, and that means it is time to find great deals on things we’ve always wanted (or never realized we needed until today).
Beginning at 3 p.m. EDT, millions of items and gadgets will see their prices slashed. Some deals have been available for days now, but the bulk of the discounts will start to be shown at that time.
Prime Day will last well into Tuesday, so you don’t necessarily need to rush to your computer or smartphone right when it starts. However, if you want to ensure you get in on the deals you seek, waiting around may not be a great idea.
That’s especially true if you want one of these
We have a rough idea of some items that will be discounted, but certainly do not know of everything. But there are a handful of things that are expected to be on sale, and if they are, you will want to make sure you snag them as quickly as possible.
What are they? Let’s take a look.
Amazon Echo Spot
The second-generation home assistant that connects to Alexa and accesses the cloud for music, news, information, alarms, controlling a smart home and more is one of many Amazon devices that figure to be discounted.
But why the Echo Spot? Its size allows it to fit into pretty much any room, and it is stylish enough to not stick out like a sore thumb. Yet, it’s more than just a pretty gadget, as it is as useful as the other members of the Echo line.
Its screen makes it unique in the Echo line, allowing it to do video calls and otherwise be a nice thing to have on a desk or in a room.
Bose QuietComfort 35 II
Whether you are listening to music or a podcast or watching a video, headphones always come in handy. The Bose QuietComfort 35 Series II headphones are wireless and noise-canceling, meaning you will hear only what you are listening to when they are on.
Easy to connect to your device and providing up to 20 hours of wireless play time from a rechargeable battery, it can also be wired just in case.
Philips Hue Starter Kit
You may have heard of smart lighting and perhaps even have interest in giving it a shot. If the price of the Philips Hue drops, now could be the time to take the plunge.
They offer more than 16 million colors and shades of white that will instantly change the feel of your room. The lights can be controlled remotely with a smartphone or tablet, allowing you to be as creative as you would like.
The LED bulbs are rated to provide 25,000 hours — or 23 years — of normal use, and are simple to install.
That’s not all, of course
These three items are just a tiny sample of what we can expect to see on sale. Anyone who has taken part in Prime Day before knows there will be so much more, with products ranging across all different categories.
Some items are bound to be more popular than others. According to the consumer Technology Association’s Consumer Technology Ownership and Market Potential Study, smartphones top the list, with earbuds — both wired and wireless — helping to round out the top three.
Wireless headphones, portable wireless speakers and wired headphones are also in the top 10, as are televisions and smart-home gadgets.
