Were you watching when April gave birth? Did you see her baby take his first steps? Millions of people have had their eyes glued to the Animal Adventure Park’s giraffe cam for the past several weeks.
Unfortunately, the camera came down last Friday. Jordan Patch, the owner of the park, said the employees needed to focus on getting the park ready for opening day. But it didn’t stay down for long!
The Giraffe Cam was brought back by popular demand. According to their Facebook page, there will be a live stream every Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. EST and you can continue to watch on their YouTube page. When the zoo re-opens, their stalls will be empty most of the day. People all around the world will be able to watch the rest of their daily routine when they return to their stalls after the zoo closes.
Psst: If you loved watching April then make sure you check out these other animals’ live streams.
One of the reasons why the cam had to come down is because it was “interfering with normal park operations.” Several viewers noticed that there was a problem with April’s leg so they flooded the park’s communication avenues. But the team was well aware of the issue and the bombardment was distracting.
“We appreciate (your) concern but the bogging down of email servers and other platforms is the exact reason the giraffe cam will need (to) be pulled.”
Luckily, the park was able to find a solution that keeps everyone happy. And if you just can’t get enough of April, they still have the text alert subscription service. Subscribers will receive weekly updates, photos and videos.
