Amazon Alexa adds new feature you’ll love

You need to make reservations for your anniversary dinner, buy your brother a birthday gift, and reschedule your doctor’s appointment. How will you remember to do everything?

You need a reminder. And no, I don’t mean tying a string on your finger! It’s 2017 so you can just use Alexa. After all, she is your digital assistant.

Amazon recently released an Alexa ability that allows users to set reminders. “Alexa, remind me to pick up my medication from the pharmacy at 8 PM.” You can set them for later on in the day or a certain date. All of your timers can be managed in the “Alerts & Alarms” section of the Alexa app.

Alexa owners will also be able to name timers that they set through their device. Let’s say you need to set multiple timers at once because you’re cooking a big feast. Alexa can tell you when to take each dish out of the oven. The list of all your timers will also be in the Alexa app.

Alexa users in the United States can already use this new feature. People in Germany and the United Kingdom will be able to use it in the coming weeks.

With thousands of skills already built into Alexa, it’s surprising that this is something that she couldn’t already do. Click here to read about more Alexa skills that you might not know about.
