Want to get into podcasts (ahem, like mine)? You need a nice set of earbuds like these that sound great, have a 32-hour battery life and are a fraction of the price of AirPods.

Apple Watches can be life-saving, but they’re not cheap. If you have an FSA or HSA, you may be able to get reimbursed.

🐭 Coming to Disney next year: This is freakin’ awesome. Real Star Wars droids roaming around. They’re working with Google DeepMind and Nvidia’s new Newton model to bring them to life. This will help them walk around the parks, be more expressive and do tricky tasks on their own. What do you call a pirate droid? Arr-2 D2. (Good one, right?)

$750,000

How much TikTok star Khaby Lame rakes in per branded post. The twist? He doesn’t say a word. All he does is silently react to so-called “life hacks” with shrugs and funny facial expressions. It’s things like this that make me wonder if I picked the wrong career path.

👮 Need help but can’t speak? In many areas of the USA, you can text 911 instead of calling. It’s not available everywhere, so it’s best to check ahead. Visit text911.info to see if it works in your area. It could literally save your life.

Freshen up

A little TLC makes everything feel better.

  • Shower curtain covered in soap scum? This is your sign to get a new one that repels water.
  • For folks with dandruff or eczema, a scalp scrubber (27% off) does wonders. Even if you don’t, it helps get your hair more clean.
  • Nice towels are one of life’s little pleasures. A four-pack of large cotton ones in lots of colors is 20% off.
  • I’m so glad Abby never has accidents. If your pup does, this cleaner with orange oil rocks.
  • Use a steamer (21% off) to deep clean without harsh chemicals turning your hands into prunes.

🚘 Nice ride: I’ve got just the stuff to get your car shiny and organized.

🤝 I want to be your secret helper and mentor: Do you think you’re getting scammed? Wondering how to use AI in your business or life? Need some advice? I would love to help you. Ask me your questions here on my site. I read every single note.

An iPhone saved a woman’s life: She collapsed with severe chest pain, and doctors weren’t sure what was going on. They plugged a  portable ultrasound probe into an iPhone. Once they scanned her heart, they found a tear in her aorta. That correct diagnosis stopped her from bleeding out.

Here VR for convicted criminals: Prisoners in solitary confinement are getting VR goggles so they can pretend to be walking in Paris or on a beach in Thailand. The goal? Handle life. Case in point: Someone bumped into Daniel in VR. Instead of lashing out, he was guided through a breathing exercise to handle conflict.

👽 Just for the record, sleeve them alone: This is wild. NASA launched the Voyager 1 and 2, each carrying a Golden Record filled with photos and audio representing life on Earth almost 50 years ago. Think a nursing mother, nature pics and human speech. The kicker? Both spacecraft are experiencing major power problems. Aliens are more into comet books anyway.

Don’t fall for this: Have a TD Bank account? If you get a text about a big pending charge, don’t click it. It links to a fake TD Bank site that looks real but steals your login info. Some folks have lost their life savings. So sad.

AirPods aren’t the only option: Check out Raycon. Their earbuds sound great, get a ton of battery life and are a fraction of the price.

33 mushers

Are taking on this year’s Iditarod dogsled race in Alaska because the usual route didn’t get enough snow. There are normally 50 to 75 mushers. The new course is farther north and now stretches a record 1,128 miles, forcing racers through endless wilderness and brutal blizzards (paywall link). You know, life is like a dogsled team. If you’re not the lead dog, the view is always the same.

Turn off Siri on your Apple Watch: Tired of Siri popping up? Disable the triggers you don’t need. Go to Settings > Siri and toggle off the options that bother you. Bonus: It’ll help with battery life, too.

RIP: Check your phone’s end-of-life (EOL) date. That’s when it’ll no longer get security updates aka when you really should stop using it. Try endoflife.date to find your EOL.

🩸 Elizabeth Holmes’ life in vein: Convicted felon and former CEO of Theranos wants us to feel sorry for her after cheating and stealing $724 million for tech that didn’t work. In a PR puff piece interview, she says prison is “hell and torture,” waking up at 5 a.m., earning 31 cents an hour and only seeing her kids twice a week. This criminal’s best asset is her lie ability.

“Rage-baiting”: It’s what Winta Zesu does when she posts videos of her life as a NY model whose biggest problem is being “too pretty.” Is she a narcissist? Nope. People get angry and post hateful comments. Joke’s on them. More engagement translates to money and sponsorships for her.
