What I Streamed and Liked 'Free Solo'

Kim, who's an avid hiker in her home state of Arizona, watched the documentary, "Free Solo" with husband Barry. It's suspenseful, thrilling and prompted Barry to tell Kim, "If you ever do this, I will divorce you." It's available on YouTube, Amazon Prime, Vudu, Google Play and Hulu.

The documentary follows Alex Honnold, who attempts the first known free solo climb of El Capitan at Yosemite National Park. It's a 900-meter vertical rock. The documentary was released in 2018 and won the Academy Award for best documentary earlier this year.

Free soloing, as the name implies, is when rock climbers do it without ropes, harnesses, protective gear or other equipment. Why would anyone want to do this? You'll have to watch to understand, but it has a lot to do with man versus nature, where climbers use their own strength and skills to scale "impossible" heights.
