How to uncover an image on your iPhone

No need to scroll through page after page of images. A few quick, easy steps are all it takes to locate your photo.

Open your Photos app and tap on the magnifying glass icon in the lower right-hand corner. Enter the name of a place, a person (if you have assigned them in your photo app), or other search terms such as an event or thing (scenes or objects).

Through machine learning, your device will utilize face recognition along with scene and object detection to populate and display your matches. Click your desired image.

If you’re still having trouble, look for your image within certain categories or group files. These tend to have fewer images than you might expect, making the job of locating specific photos simpler.
