Our pick for the most powerful router on the market: NETGEAR Orbi RBK852

Based on your answers, the NETGEAR Orbi RBK852 is the ideal router for your home. Granted, this tri-band mesh Wi-Fi system is an investment, but it’s one we think is worth making if you have a large home and many devices.

The Orbi RBK852 provides a strong, stable connection across 5,000 square feet for up to 100 devices, plus a hardwired connection through four ethernet ports. It’s Wi-Fi 6 enabled, which is a smart way to future-proof your home’s network if you’re shelling out a lot of cash for a router.

Wi-Fi 6 technology offers up to three times faster speeds, four times higher capacity and 75% lower latency compared to Wi-Fi. Tap or click here to learn more about Wi-Fi 6 routers. Along with an Intel dual-core CPU, you can expect smooth, buffer-free streaming and gaming.

This powerful router is ideal for office use or for larger homes with heavy gaming or streaming use. It’s also good if you have nearby mother-in-law suite, garage, workshop or other structure nearby. It’s a heavy-duty router that stomps out feeble connections and weak signals.

The Orbi RBK852 includes the main hub, plus one satellite extender. If your property is larger than 5,000 square feet, you can extend coverage up to 2,500 square feet with each additional satellite (sold separately).

This router is compatible with any internet service provider up to 2.5Gbps including cable, satellite, fiber and DSL.

“I set up our new Orbi WiFi 6 system last weekend. The initial setup is quite easy,” one reviewer said. “Being a veteran of Wi-Fi for many years, I was also interested in some of the more in-depth settings like IP Address Range, Reserved DHCP, and Port Forwarding. All those controls I was accustomed to are there, in the Advanced settings. The performance is unreal – as I now have identical download and upload speeds between my Wired PC near my Modem and my Wireless PC at the opposite end of the house!
