Before you take any medicine, you must always check the expiration date. This is because it can cause more harm by ingesting expired medications than the condition you are treating. Unfortunately, medicine manufacturers sometimes detect a problem, which can also put your health at risk.
Read on for a list of 63 medications that have recently been recalled and what you should do next.
Here’s the backstory
Personal care company Vi-Jon is recalling all lots of its Magnesium Citrate Saline Laxative Oral Solution as a third-party laboratory found small amounts of the Gluconacetobacter liquefaciens bacteria.
The bacterium infects plants but can cause life-threatening adverse health consequences in humans when ingested. Vi-Jon initially only recalled one lot of its lemon flavor but expanded the recall to include all lots of lemon flavor and more.
Now, the company is recalling all lots of all flavors, adding cherry and grape to the list. So far, Vi-Jon is aware of three reports of adverse reactions.

What you can do about it
These products were distributed nationwide to wholesale and retail outlets. If you have recalled meds, you must stop using them and return any remaining to the place of purchase.
You should contact your physician or healthcare provider if you have experienced any problems related to taking or using these products. If you have questions, you can e-mail Recalls@Vijon.com from Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central.
Adverse reactions can be reported to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program or call 1-800-332-1088 to request a reporting form, then complete and return to the address on the pre-addressed form, or submit by fax to 1-800-FDA-0178.
