Reading is one of my favorite pastimes. There’s nothing better than unwinding at the end of the day and losing yourself in a good book.
With the advent of eBooks, reading has never been more convenient. Now, you can make the reading experience more entertaining with an app that turns eBooks interactive.
It’s called Inkling and it’s available for free on both iOS and Android.
These interactive eBooks are designed to help you learn, study and discover just about anything, whether it’s for school, work, or play. Inkling’s books cover everything from anatomy to photography and travel to cooking.
Anatomy titles include hundreds of hi-resolution diagrams that let you strip off the labels and test what you know.
Inkling’s Lonely Planet Guides offer Foursquare-based location information along with live updates.
Food and drink books include instructional animations and videos to help you learn new skills in the kitchen. There are even ‘For Dummies’ selections that will teach you how to play the guitar or learn Java or CSS. You’re able to download one free chapter to give it a try.
Some of the Inkling app features include:
Offline access – You don’t have to be online to read your Inkling books. Just download them to your smartphone or tablet and you can read them anywhere, anytime. All of your notes, highlights and bookmarks are saved, synced across gadgets and can be accessed anytime.
Search and navigate – Inkling books come with powerful search capabilities. Just type in a keyword or phrase and you’re taken right to the content you want to read.
Learning aids – Tap and hold anywhere in the text and your favorite learning tools – highlights, notes, definition and search – will pop up.
Rich interactivity – Reading is enjoyable with interactive aids such as high-resolution images, audio and video. Content is handcrafted to exploit the full power of your gadget and the web.
