Can I use my iPhone while it charges?

Is it safe to use my iPhone while it’s charging?
Perhaps it occurs to you that your iPhone gets very hot if you use it while it’s charging. You don’t need to worry though — it is definitely safe to use while it’s charging.
The bad thing about using while charging is you’ll slow down the charging speed in the process. Your phone may heat up a little, but it’s unlikely to heat up to the point where it’s dangerous.
The real danger behind exploding gadgets
The thing to watch out for is using third-party chargers and batteries for your iPhone. You may find a cheap replacement battery from a seller on Amazon, or you might find a cheap charging cable from a company in another country.
These products can work out for some, but the woman whose iPhone recently exploded had just put in a battery from a non-Apple company. That company did not respond to her emails, and it pulled the battery from its listings entirely.
To keep your lithium-ion-powered electronics truly safe, make sure you use materials issued from their specific companies or that the items are Apple-certified.
Also, be sure not to leave your iPhone in a hot car or outside on a hot summer day for an extended period of time, as that can cause serious overheating. Many iPhones shut off automatically when they get too hot to avoid that problem and power back on once they’ve cooled down. But in case that setting fails, keep your iPhone near a fan or in a cool spot with you as much as you can.
Feel free, though, to charge your iPhone often — “topping off” your phone’s battery can actually be very good for it in the long term, so do that when you can. And don’t let it deplete too much.
Modern lithium-ion batteries can last up to 10 years when used correctly, assuming there aren’t other aging problems with them or the electronics they charge. Just take care of your iPhone and use certified Apple chargers and batteries. You will easily be able to use it while it’s charging with absolutely no fears at all.
