Brainteaser: Can you find the sneaky snake?

This photo is the latest brainteaser to stump the internet. It may look like just a bunch of leaves and twigs, but there’s a venomous snake blending into its surroundings. Can you spot this camouflage pro?

The photo was originally posted by Twitter user @SssnakeySci, a Ph.D. student who studies snake biology. Her tweet has over 6,000 retweets and over 23,000 likes. Most people have found it very difficult to find. Look very closely!

Hint: To see the snake, you may need to zoom in. On a Mac computer, press the “Command” and “+” keys at the same time. On a PC, press the “Control” and “+” keys at the same time. After you find it, press Command/Control and the “-” to zoom out.

Luckily, this Twitter user didn’t keep us in suspense too long. She posted another picture with the snake outlined the following day.

*Fun Fact: Copperhead snakes, like the one in the photo, are found in eastern North America. At most, they can grow to a length of 37 inches and a weight of 12 ounces. The venom in their bites can cause tingling, throbbing, swelling, and nausea. Definitely not something you want to be bit by!
