Online shopping is one of the best things to come out of the invention of the internet. It’s so much more convenient than driving to the mall, searching for a place to park and battling massive crowds.
Of course, when you think about online shopping, Amazon definitely comes to mind. It’s by far the most popular online retailer, with over 300 million users. Now, Amazon is adding a new feature that will make it even more convenient.
Amazon adds new convenient feature
You’ve probably heard about Amazon’s expansion measures recently. Earlier this year the online retail giant acquired popular supermarket chain Whole Foods.
Amazon already offers a home delivery service for groceries in certain markets. This acquisition makes the online retailer a major player in the brick-and-mortar grocery store arena.
The expansion didn’t stop there. Amazon also began a partnership recently with department store chain Kohl’s. Amazon gadgets, such as the Echo and Fire tablets, are now available for purchase at certain Kohl’s locations across the U.S.
Here’s the good news. Kohl’s announced this week that it will begin accepting returns for Amazon.com customers at 82 locations across Los Angeles and Chicago in October. Kohl’s will pack and ship eligible Amazon return items for free.
A Kohl’s rep said, “We are thrilled to launch this unprecedented and innovative concept, allowing customers to bring in their unpackaged Amazon returns to Kohl’s and we will pack them, ship them, and return them to Amazon for free.” Those taking return items to Kohl’s will even have designated parking spots near the store entrance.
This service will only begin in limited areas. However, if it takes off we could see it expand across the U.S.
Whole Foods also has a similar type of return service. Anyone wanting to return items purchased on Amazon.com can take them to any of the 400 Whole Foods locations.
Sometimes it feels like Amazon is going to take over the world. With conveniences like this, it’s easy to see why.
